Privacy Policy

Thank you for visiting the Institute for Patient- and Family-Centered Care website. We respect your privacy and have designed our site so that you can visit without identifying yourself. We collect no personal information about you unless you choose to share that information with us. If you decide to provide us personal information (i.e. name, email address) we promise that it will only be used to support your relationship with us or others who have an interest in patient- and family-centered care.

Here is how we handle information about your visit to our website.

Information that is collected and stored automatically:
If you simply browse through the website, read pages, or download information, we automatically gather and store certain information about your visit. This information does not identify you or contain any personal information. The following information is automatically gathered and stored for statistical purposes:

  • The Internet domain from which you access our website;
  • Your IP address from which you access our website;
  • The type of browser and operating system used to access our site;
  • The date and time you access our site;
  • The pages you visit; and
  • If you linked to our website from another website, the address of that website.

We use this information to help us make our site more useful to visitors, to analyze trends, to learn about the number of visitors to and their movements around our site, and the types of technology our visitors use. We compile statistics that show the daily number of visitors to our site, the daily requests we receive for particular files, and where on the site is visited most often. Except for on the Resources Shopping Cart, the Institute for Patient- and Family-Centered Care website does not use "third-party cookies."

Information that you voluntarily provide:
If you provide us with personally identifiable information, for example, by sending an e-mail or by filling out the "Join Our Community" Form and submitting it through our website, we use that information to respond to your message and to help us provide you with the information and services that you request. When you click the "Submit" button, you are giving us your voluntary consent to use your information.

How your personal information is used:
The information we collect is used to register or invite you to a meeting or event, to respond to requests for information, to fill orders from our Resources Shopping Cart, to inform you of new content posted to the website, and to subscribe you to our e-newsletter. On occasion, we may provide targeted lists of names and contact information to third parties who share an interest in issues related to patient- and family-centered care.

We share personal information with third parties as needed to provide information or services you request. Personal information is available to IFCC employees, intermediaries, contractors, or agents for purposes of contacting you, sending e-mails based on your request for information or services, or otherwise responding to and fulfilling your requests.

IFCC contracts with companies that provide specialized services, such as, but not limited to, the delivery of e-newsletter mailings, processing credit card transactions, registering seminar and conference attendees, shipping orders, and performing statistical analysis of our services. These companies do not retain, share, store, or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes. We will provide to those companies only the personal information needed to deliver the defined services. In all cases, these companies are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.

If you purchase publications or multimedia materials from us, we request certain personally identifiable information on our order form. You must provide contact information (such as name, e-mail, and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date). We use this information for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you.

You have the right to update or delete your information at any time by sending an email to Institute@ipfcc.org. If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications, you may opt-out of receiving them by following the instructions included in each newsletter.

IPFCC conference and seminar materials include names and contact information for participants These lists are available to attendees, including Conference or Seminar exhibitors and sponsors.

Security
The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number) on our Resource Shopping Cart order forms, it is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL). We follow accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or of electronic storage, is 100% secure.

Our web site contains links to other websites. IPFCC has no control, oversight, or responsibility for the privacy practices, privacy statements, or content regarding other sites. IFCC cannot control the use or security of your personal information once you leave our site. We encourage you to be aware of when you leave our website and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information.

Changes in this Privacy Statement
Employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. We reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any time, so please review it frequently. If we make substantive changes to this policy, we will place a notice on our website.
